Arrival of Spring – June 6

Success!

At last! I have successfully grown radishes. Specifically this French Breakfast radish, an heirloom variety that I first tasted at the home of Deborah Madison (that’s another story!) in 2013.

These small radish are delicious, even the leaves! And so sketchable!

  1. Whoa ! Nice. The red root makes a person want to eat it right out of the ground.

    BTW, Everyday Sketches is educational.

Yesterday I was walking with a friend who pointed to alliums + asked me if I knew what they were called.

    1. That’s great! I hadn’t thought of the education aspect. Thanks!

And yes, I think I did eat one of those radish right out of the ground. Though I did brush off the dirt first!
