In the woods

My walk today afforded me the opportunity to take a wee detour into a nearby sugar bush. It was so quiet that, as I stood there drawing, I could hear the “drip, drip, drip” of sap falling into the buckets around me.

Colour added later, and too much of it, in hindsight. Below is the other wee drawing from today, with some restraint on colouring. This stack of boxes has something to do with the bee hives wrapped up next to them.

  1. What a seemingly luxurious lifestyle you lead, how do you find time to do this? I know, it’s me, make the time. I spent the afternoon expanding my chicken coop, go figure. Nice work, I like the bee hive boxes

    1. Well, the walk was about an hour. The two ink sketches about 15 minutes each, then maybe another half hour colouring. So, not a huge time commitment. Then again, I don’t have a chicken coop needing expanded.
As a friend suggested to me once, start small. Draw your morning coffee cup, for example.
