Close up

I bought a small bouquet of delphiniums at the local Farmers’ Market the other day. What a flamboyant and intensely coloured flower (two different types are pictured below).

And from my garden I picked one stem of Masterwort, a plant I have finally grown successfully after many years. It is just as remarkable, but in a more delicate way.

I am no botanical artist, I don’t have the patience. But it is a pleasure to spend some time close up, if only to produce a simple sketch.
